BOB Gear Wayfinder vs BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0

The Revolution Flex 3.0 costs $30 less than the Wayfinder, $650 against $680, and is 2.6 lb lighter at 28.5 lb. So why pay more for the Wayfinder? Folded size. The Wayfinder folds to 16.5 x 22 x 32.5 inches and stands; the Flex 3.0 folds to 38 x 25 x 16 with the wheels on, and BOB's page does not say it stands. The Flex 3.0 has a wider adjustment range on the handlebar, 34.5 to 48 inches against 34.5 to 45.5, and takes 75 lb against 65. For infants, the Wayfinder wants an infant car seat until the baby has head and neck control; the Flex 3.0 allows a car seat for walking only and the seat for jogging from 8 months. A hatchback, a small closet or an apartment hallway tips it to the Wayfinder's upright fold, and $30 is a small premium for that. A tall runner with room to store a long fold gets more from the Flex's longer handlebar travel and higher child limit.

Folded, the BOB Gear Wayfinder makes a 6.83 cu ft box to the BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0's 8.8 cu ft. Neither fits a 22 x 14 x 9 in carry-on sizer: the BOB Gear Wayfinder misses by 10.5 in and the BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 by 16 in. The BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 is 2.6 lb lighter by its maker's figure (28.5 lb to 31.1 lb). For taller parents, the BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0's handlebar reaches 48 in against 45.5 in.
