Best for: A toddler plus a preschooler, on a double that costs little
Type
28 models · 16 brands, ~$160–$2,419
A double carries two children in one of three ways: side by side (wider, both kids get the view), tandem (one behind the other, single-stroller width) or sit-and-stand (a seat in front and a bench or platform behind for an older child). Width decides whether it clears your doorways, so the in-use width is worth checking against your narrowest door.

Check price on AmazonNineteen of the 28 doubles here are side by side, five are tandem and four are sit-and-stand. Width is the price of seating kids next to each other: the UPPAbaby Minu Duo is 27.8 inches and the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double 26.1, while the Zoe Twin is 30 and Thule lists a 31.5 inch door pass-through for its Urban Glide 3 Double. The narrowest are the in-line models: the Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight is 21.25 inches wide, the Chicco BravoFor2 23.3. Their cost is length, as the Chicco Cortina Together folds to 47.8 inches.
Three makers say so. Chicco says the Cortina Together accepts two Chicco infant seats with no adapter, Graco says the Ready2Grow 2 takes two at once, and Baby Trend says the Sit N Stand Ultra fits infant seats in both its front and rear positions. Several others carry one: a Nuna PIPA clicks onto the wider seat of the TRVL dubl, and the Zoe Trio and Tribe put a car seat on the front seat only. For two small babies without car seats, UPPAbaby lists both Minu Duo seats as suitable from birth, and the Zoe Twin V3 includes infant cocoons for both.
The weight limit is stated per seat, and it varies a lot. The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double stops at 33 lb per seat, the Chicco pair and the Kolcraft and Mompush models at 40, and most of the rest at 45 to 55. Zoe's four doubles lead at 60. For a toddler plus a baby the useful question is who sits where. Joovy gives the Caboose RS stand-on platform a 44 inch height maximum, and Chicco rates the BravoFor2 for children up to 40 lb and 43 inches.
Paying more for a double does not buy a lighter one. Prices start at $160 for the Baby Trend Sit N Stand Ultra, ten list under $400, and the Bugaboo Donkey 6 Twin tops the range at $2,419. The $2,169 Donkey 6 weighs 42.1 lb with bassinet and seats, against about 23 lb for the Kolcraft Cloud doubles, the Zoe Twin V2 and the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double. The UPPAbaby Minu Duo, at 27.4 lb, undercuts the Vista V3 single, so weight tracks the design more than the price.
