The Kangaroo's draw is its tandem layout: the baby rides on top facing the parent while the toddler sits below facing the world. Families expecting a second child say that configuration is the reason they chose it over a Vista or Gazelle.
Against a Vista, owners who tried both say it pushes more smoothly over cobblestones and curbs, and it folds one-handed where the Vista needs two. The fold is not small, though, taking most of an SUV's trunk for one owner. The basket is big and open, without the bar that splits a Vista's.
The case for it is narrow and clear: baby close, toddler facing out, one narrow frame. The open question is the lower seat, which shoppers worry will be small for tall toddlers. It has only a short track record so far, so these impressions come from a fairly small group of owners.
Owners who compared them say the Kangaroo pushes more smoothly, folds one-handed, has an open basket without a crossbar, and lets the baby ride on top. The concern on the Kangaroo side is the smaller lower seat.
Yes, that is the main reason people buy it: the bassinet goes up top facing the parent, with the toddler seat below facing out.
Not really. It folds with one hand, but one owner says it takes most of a Ford Escape's trunk, and some shoppers found the fold bulkier than rivals'.
