A travel system is a stroller plus an infant car seat that clicks onto it. Some pairings attach directly; most need an adapter, which may be included or sold separately. 33 of the 187 strollers here take at least one seat with no adapter, and nearly all of those pairings are the stroller maker's own seats.
A native fit means the seat locks onto the frame itself. An adapter is a pair of brackets that does the same job for seats of another shape; makers name them by stroller and seat brand ("Bugaboo Butterfly 2 car seat adapters", "Thule Spring car seat adapter (Chicco)"). Some strollers ship with an adapter in the box: Bugaboo Dragonfly Plus, Bugaboo Kangaroo, Nuna MIXX next, Nuna TRIV next, Nuna SWIV, Baby Jogger City Mini Air, Cybex Libelle, Cybex Coya, Cybex Gazelle S, Chicco Corso Primo, Evenflo Transformer, Evenflo Omni Crew Wagon, Maxi-Cosi Oxford Cabin, Maxi-Cosi Oxford Modular, Maxi-Cosi Fame, Maxi-Cosi Tayla Max, Maxi-Cosi Tana 360, Mockingbird Travel Stroller, Britax Prism, Nuna DEMI icon, Nuna IVVI totl, Cybex Priam, Cybex Mios, Cybex e-Priam, Cybex Balios S Lux, Cybex Beezy, Cybex Avi Spin, Cybex e-Gazelle S, Chicco Corso Flex, Baby Jogger City Mini GT3, Graco Ready2Roll Stroller Wagon.
Adapters are also a part that can be recalled on its own: in 2026 the CPSC announced a recall of Joolz Aer2 car seat adapters while stating the stroller itself was not involved.
How many strollers here list each seat family, and how many take it with no adapter. The full matrix is on the car seat compatibility page.

A pairing is listed here only when the stroller maker's page or adapter listing names it. Some makers say "compatible with most" seats of a brand without naming models, and that wording is repeated as-is. If your seat is not listed, the pairing may still exist; check the maker's adapter page before buying.
Several owners say their adapters have to come off before the stroller will fold, including on one frame whose listing says they can stay on; others fold with theirs fitted and never think about it. If you plan to leave adapters on, try the fold with them in the store.
Expect to buy adapters separately on most premium frames, sometimes two sets for a single-to-double. And many parents who bought them barely clicked the car seat onto the stroller at all, preferring the bassinet or carrying the seat, while others call the click-in essential for errands with a sleeping baby. The infant seat phase is short either way: owners usually move on from it somewhere between five and eight months.
Maker claims quoted on this page are the maker’s own and are labelled as such. This page is general information, not medical or safety advice for your child; follow the stroller's manual.

It depends on the stroller, and the maker says which. 53 of the 187 strollers here are newborn-ready as sold, with a seat rated from birth or a bassinet in the box. The rest need a bassinet, an insert or an infant car seat, or are not meant for babies at all.
US stroller recalls are published by the Consumer Product Safety Commission at cpsc.gov/Recalls. A recall names the model and usually a range of serial numbers or production dates, so check the label on your stroller, not just the name. A maker's service notice is not a recall.
